About

Dr. Vitthalrao Vikhe Patil Institute of Technology & Engineering Polytechnic at Loni is the first private sector diploma engineering college in Maharashtra.

Established on 12 August, 1981 with around 100 students and 10 teachers in 3 branches, the institution has expanded into 1410 students and 72 teachers across 6 branches in 2018-19.

Contradictory developments were at work in 1981. While the industry complained of skilled manpower shortage, rural youth could not find gainful employment. The time and funds necessary for pursuing graduate degrees made them stay away. Result: unemployability.

It was with a view to provide quick employment to such students that the Polytechnic College was set up. And the results speak for themselves.
