About

The department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering was established in the year 1991 with intake of 60 students for U.G. & Intake of 06 students for P.G.in VLSI and EMBEDDED SYSTEMS for program under the Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune. The department has been accredited by the National Board of Accreditation, New Delhi. It has state of art equipment, spacious laboratories, highly qualified and dedicated staff and above all highly motivated students.

Majority of the departmental faculty are postgraduates and few are pursuing their post-doctoral degrees. The department encourages faculty to attend and present papers in national and international conferences and seminars. They are also encouraged to undergo short term training programs, summer and winter schools.

The students of our department are our main asset. We have produced many University toppers and rank holders. The students of our department have also been placed in prestigious firms like Infosys, Satyam Computers, Siemens, Wipro, TCS to name a few.

A cutting edge AICTE funded Skill Laboratory Rs. 24.80 lakhs imparts practical education to SC/ST students. Utilization of state of the art laboratories, infrastructure, and teaching-learning processes helps students grasp the subject matter comprehensively.

Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)

  1. PEO1: Engage in Designing, Testing, Operating, Manufacturing Systems in the field of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering.
  2. PEO2: Solve Problems of allied areas by applying the knowledge of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering.
  3. PEO3:Ability to update knowledge with emerging technologies to embrace professional and ethical attitude in multidisciplinary projects.
  4. PEO4:Work effectively as individual and as team member to make effective contributions to the benefit of workplace and community.

Program Specific Outcomes (PSOs)

After successful completion of Degree our graduates will be able to

  1. PSO1: Apply the fundamental knowledge of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering to analyze analog / digital electronic circuits, Signal Processing, Computer Networks, microcontrollers and telecommunication systems.
  2. PSO2: Design and implement the VLSI and Embedded systems to resolve the societal and industrial problems using modern engineering hardware and software tools.
  3. PSO3:Ability to recognize the importance of continual learning, execute effectively the interpersonal skills in Industry and demonstrate the practice of professional ethics for social benefit.

Program Outcomes

  1. PO1: Engineering knowledge: Able to apply knowledge of mathematics, science and engineering to determine mathematical model of a Communication Systems, Signal Processing, Filters, Electronic circuit with design, Network security etc.
  2. PO2: Problem Analysis: Able to identify, formulate and solve the problems in, Signals and systems, Electronic Circuits, Integrated Circuits, Filters and regulators, communication systems, network security system, radiation, Microwave, Mobile and Broadband communication.
  3. PO3: Design/Development of Solutions: Able to apply the principles, practices for Circuit, system, equipment, device design, Filters, Oscillators and regulators, control, safety system, security system in, Electronics & Telecommunication, etc., and development to real world problems adhering to Electronics and Telecommunication.
  4. PO4: Conduct Investigations of Complex Problems: Able to design and conduct experiments for Integrated circuits, Electronic devices, Circuits, Control system, variety of data structures and algorithms etc. And ability to analyse and interpret data.
  5. PO5: Modern Tool Usage: Able to select and use latest hardware and software tools for subjects such as DSP, Embedded processors, Communication systems, Circuit synthesis and design (Embedded C, MATLAB, Xilinx, Microwind, Multisim etc. software tools.)
  6. PO6: The Engineer and Society: Able to apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess social, health, safety, legal and cultural issues relevant to Engineering Practice.
  7. PO7: Environment and Sustainability: Able to understand the impact of engineering solutions in a global, economic, environmental, and societal context.
  8. PO8: Ethics: Able to understand the social impact of Security aspects of communication, hazards associated with various manufacturing processes, environmental issues, professional ethics, etc.
  9. PO9: Individual and Teamwork: Able to work effectively in a various team and as a leader of team in managing all projects (May be multidisciplinary teams).
  10. PO10: Communication: Able to communicate effectively in oral and written form while formulating project proposals, reports and other related documents.
  11. PO11: Project Management and Finance: As an Individual or leader of team by applying knowledge of project planning, developing and management, to manage projects in multidisciplinary environments.
  12. PO12: Lifelong Learning: Recognize the need for, and have the preparation and ability to engage in independent and life-long learning in broadest context of technological changes.
