About
Electrical Engineering department at the Sir Visvesvaraya Institute of Technology (SVIT) is among the original departments at the college established in 1998-99. We conduct a degree course in electrical engineering to meet the growing needs of the expanding field of electrical engineering.
Excellent employment opportunities exist in public and private sector enterprises as also in R&D organizations globally. The department interacts with industry with many of our students working in industry-sponsored projects and undergoing vocational training.
Taking note of rapid changes in skill requirements, the department upgrades the technical and practical knowledge of students through various events under the aegis of Electrical Engineering Student’s Association (EESA). Of particular note is “ELECTRA,” wherein activities such as Robo War, Box Cricket, Chess Tournaments, and Aptitude Test are conducted.
Areas covered include Basic Electrical Engineering, Electrical Machines, Power Systems, Measurement & Instrumentation, and High Voltage Engineering.

ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING STUDENT ASSOCIATION (EESA)
EESA Is Established In 1998-99.Under This Association We Are Trying To Improve The Technical Knowledge Of Students By Arranging The Various Paper Presentation, Guest Lecturer From Various Fields. Department also celebrate the various events like Teacher days, Gurupurinama. In every year EESA Organized 3 DAYS departmental event “ELECTRA “ in that various activity like ROBO WAR,BOX CRICKET,CHESS,APTITUTE TEST etc has been performed. We also organized various industrial visits along with trip for 2-3 days so that student can get practical knowledge.
